Dapps is a loyalty rewards application for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). It helps these businesses market themselves to customers throughout the entire shopping experience, from the moment a customer enters the store to the final checkout. I have designed their Website and their Dashboard(MVP) for a funding event to secure investment from venture capitalists (VCs).

Context: How did it all start?

Creating an all-in-one platform to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to enhance their marketing efforts and customer engagement by providing tools for loyalty rewards, contactless payments, and customer analytics

As a Product design consultant I helped an early-stage startup tackle to create a suite of tools to help SMBs who cannot afford enterprise softwares to gain more customers or keep track of their marketing issues. Dapps aim: To empower SMBs attract and retain customers, ultimately boosting their revenues and fostering stronger customer relationships.

My Role

For this project my role as a Solo Product designer, included Landing page design. I wrote content, ideated, designed and delivered the website and a web app dashboard (MVP) to conceptualize the business goal and user's journey.

What is the "Problem"?

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) often struggle with effectively marketing themselves, retaining customers, and managing customer loyalty programs. Traditional methods of customer engagement and loyalty tracking can be inefficient and costly, limiting SMBs' ability to compete with larger enterprises.

Is it an important problem to solve?

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) form the backbone of many economies
SMBs make up 90% of businesses and account for more than50% of employment worldwide.
Effective marketing and customer retention tools like Dapps can significantly boost their competitiveness and revenue.
For instance, a well-implemented loyalty program can increase a business's revenue by 5-10% and improve customer retention rates by 25-95%​​.

Users

Small & Medium-Sized Business Owners and Customers of SMBs are the 2 main user groups we focused on to understand the underlying issues clearly. These are their needs and wants summarized as below:
Small and Medium-Sized Business Owners:

Needs: Efficient tools to market their business, attract and retain customers, and manage loyalty programs.

Wants:Affordable, easy-to-use solutions for comprehensive customer engagement and loyalty management.

Customers of SMBs:

Needs: Seamless shopping experiences, incentives to remain loyal, and easy access to discounts and rewards.

Wants: Integrated platforms that offer contactless payments, personalized offers, and simple ways to track and redeem loyalty points.

After registering to use Dapps as their enterprise software, SMBs get a dedicated dashboard where they can manage everything like Customers, their multiple locations, Products and their entire store functions.SMBs will also gain access to a marketing tool kit to promote their businesses on various social media platforms.
